This past October, I went to visit a friend in New York City. She actually lives right in Manhattan, so I got to be right in the thick of the essence of New York.

As we tramped about the city, I was amazed all the advertising. The sheer volume of it and the quality and beauty of most of it.

 

Usually, I think of ads as annoying and not always attractive (mostly because I know that they are ads). But it’s not a bother when the ads actually qualify as art in its own rite.

I saw this billboard near Chinatown.

Wow.
